BwahFox (formerly meowie) here. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for everything.
Meowzie's Adventure has truly changed my life. It's put me on the path to something greater. and, most of all, it's immortalized my cats.
When I started this project, back in 2021... I had no idea it would become what it did. But, despite everything, all things must come to an end, good and bad.
Following this announcement, all future Meowzie's Adventure projects have been canceled, and no new ones will be made. I feel like we just need to put the series to rest.
Our last project, MA2C, has released today. It is a remake of what Meowzie's Adventure 2 could've been. It's not amazing, but I hope you enjoy it regardless. We will provide bugfixes for this title for a little while, but other than that, no future projects will be created for Meowzie's Adventure.
We put in a lot of work to this series. I'm so happy that I've seen people around me enjoy the things I've made with hamsterkat.
But, This is not the end for Meowie Games. (well, we might retire the name, but that's not related to this post). Instead, we will be launching Cat's World as our next project. I do not know when this project will be finished, but all of our development effort is being pushed into this game. We will be releasing it eventually.
Oh, maybe I should touch on the future of Meowie Games. I know that's outside the scope of this post, but whatever.
Nothing's been set in stone yet, but I'm considering handing ownership of the site over to hamsterkat6421. He's a lot more mentally stable than I am.
I'm also considering retiring the name "Meowie Games", as I don't go by "Meowie" online anymore. I might keep it, as it can be interpreted seperately, but, we may just become truly part of Cosmic Comix.
It's really been a blast being with you all since 2021. I've made so many memories developing this game. I've learned new skills, and while my mental health might be worse than it was before, I still appreciate everything that we did.
Meowie games will always be part of me. But again, I have to let go eventually. Again, thank you. Thank you so much for being here. I will do everything in my power to ensure Meowzie's Adventure will always be available to play, but we're done making the series. MA3 will probably not be updated after this post either, though we did have an update planned, so we'll see about that. I don't think it's worth the effort.
