April 25th, 2024: Meowzie's Adventure 3's multiplayer might shutdown for good, and the future of Meowzie's Adventure 3.

Hello, it's meowie again. I have some unfortunate news regarding the future of Meowzie's Adventure 3.

Development has been... rough, to say the least. Ever since about July last year we've been experiencing headache upon headache regarding memory leaks within the game, and we've finally tracked it down... the issue is... Turbowarp! oh wait... oh no...

So, as it turns out... It's actually impossible for us to fix MA 3 without removing major parts of the game, or switching to another scratch fork. We've chosen to try out forkphorus since it doesn't have any issues with memory usage, but it's also more limited in what it can do.

For example, no turbowarp extensions will function. MA 3 should be able to mostly function without turbowarp extensions though, but that's not the only thing we'll have to remove. We'll also have to remove the game's multiplayer functionality.

I don't want to do this, I really don't, but if we do continue with forkphorus (which requires us to get just a few more things to work), then I'll be forced to remove it. We want the best for the game, but the best for the game isn't even possible anymore.

I tried. I really did. Meowzie's Adventure wasn't supposed to be made in scratch in the first place. It was supposed to be a much different game, a much better game, but 2021 had it's limitations, and all we could use was scratch. It's not 2021 anymore, I know what I'm doing, and that's why after Meowzie's Adventure 3 1.0.0, I will most likely be leaving the project. (this does not mean I'm leaving meowie games, i'm here to stay)

I have assembled a small team of people who are working to port what's left of the MA 3 project over to godot. I don't like how the game is in scratch, it really deserved better. I'm not entirely sure if the project will be completed, but I have high hopes.

Meowzie's Adventure 3 (on scratch-ish) will be released soon, but it's not something I'm happy with. There isn't anything I can do here. Hate the game if you hate it, but remember that what ended up as the final product, wasn't what it was supposed to be.
